Elmer Morrissey was a scientist, an athlete, a musician and an adventurer. He cared deeply about the world in which he lived. Through this scholarship, we will honour Elmer’s memory and provide financial assistance to UCC students who exemplify his spirit and intelligence.
In April 2012, Elmer was lost at sea during a sailing race off the California coast. Since then, his family and friends have continued to struggle with his absence. A year after his death, a few of his closest friends convened a scholarship committee and now, friends from both sides of the Atlantic are working together to establish a legacy in Elmer’s name. The project provides a wonderful opportunity to create a tangible and lasting tribute to our great friend, Elmer Morrissey. |
